Art and Design

Art

At Newburgh CE Primary School our Art and Design Curriculum develops creativity, sets challenges, engages and inspires children and equips them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. The curriculum has appropriate subject knowledge, skills and understanding to explore and investigate, create and evaluate artwork as set out in the National Curriculum and so will enable the children to reach and exceed their potential. It will enable pupils to create art work with a real purpose in terms when displaying and sharing the work they create and showcasing the skills and progress they have made.

The purpose of our Art Curriculum at Newburgh CE Primary School is to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love and appreciation for art/artists and to nurture their natural talents as individuals to increase their self confidence, creativity and sense of achievement.

Tile Project 2023

Easter 2023 Art Competition

The children have been challenged to draw a black and white picture of school on A4 paper in landscape orientation. All entries will be judged and the winning entry will be turned into an installation that will be placed outside on our school wall. We only require the outline of the school as all children will participate in filling in the detail and colour on the final installation.  All entries need to be returned by Monday 24th April 2023.
