Church and School and Home

We try to build stong links between church, school and home.

Each of our classes will deliver at least one worship a year in church:

Welcome Worship - Reception and Year 6

Harvest Worship - Years 1 and 2

Remembrance Worship - Years 5 and 6

Christingle Worship - Years 3 and 4.

We hold collective worship in school three times a week.

Newburgh Beacons

In partnership with Newburgh Christ Church, we are seeking to support the development and growth of faith within the household through our 'Newburgh Beacons' sessions.

These sessions provide an opportunity for families to explore faith together in a meaningful, relaxed and fun way.

This is, in part inspired by the Church of England's national Growing Faith initiative. Growing Faith promotes a partnership between the three communities of church, school and household to enable the discovery, exploration and growth of faith for all in those communities.

Newburgh Beacons is led by a small working party of staff, parents, governors and church leaders. It is informal and always includes refreshments!

2nd February 2024

In this session the children created rainbows of hope to decorate a rain cloud. They made flower bombs to brighten and remind everyone of the HOPE that spring brings.

15th March 2024

In this session the children helped make an Easter garden for our Easter installation around the school grounds. An 'Easter Blessings' banner was made and displayed in the main entrance of school. The children made crosses into wind chimes to take home and enjoyed Easter nest cakes.

17th March 2024

In this session Trust was demonstrated by holding a bag of water over a volunteers head. Then then children tried to draw a picture without looking at it, then we tried again with family members helping to draw the picture without looking. Finally Trust jars were created and filled with things that we can trust God to help us with.

14th June 2024

During this session we utilised the Willow Dome. The children carried out different activities requiring them to trust each other (being led blindfolded through an obstacle course). Then some art work was created for Newburgh Fair.

28th November 2024

We looked at Jesus being the most precious gift. Rev. Debs shared a parcel that was unwrapped to help retell the story of Jesus' birth. Then the children made their own baby Jesus in a manger.

Church & Family Worship

We would love to see as many families as possible at our worship at Christ Church, Newburgh. Our regular services are each week at 10am on Sundays. Once a month - usually on the 3rd Sunday - we have a special service in school at 10.30am where we get creative with music and crafts. This would be a great opportunity to come for the first time and meet lots of different people from church.
